About Me

I am a self-taught Spanish glass engraver with 15 years experience.                                          I've never had the right tools, but i love this work and try to do the best i can.                              It would be wonderful to work like you someday.                                                                                This is my web site, i hope you like it... http://nileglassworks.blogspot.com/                      thanks.

I had a look on your website, you have some very good works there. It doesn't mater if you are a self taught or not as long as you passionate about what you are doing. The passion an the desire of working better and better can be sometimes the best teacher. Is true that you can not learn everything on your own but that's what all the books about glass engraving are for. You would be surprised how many questions they can answer. One of the best books that I could recommend you is The Techniques of Glass Engraving- Peter Dreiser http://www.amazon.co.uk/Techniques-Glass-Engraving-Peter-Dreiser/
I've seen in the pictures that you are using a cutting lathe, that's the perfect tool you want for engraving, you just need some different size diamond wheels or if you can not afford diamond, copper wheels are great as well and a lot cheaper.
You don't have to worry, with the enthusiasm you have you will work like me or even better.
Best of luck,
Edmond Suciu
